Emojis and Emotions

From Japanese emoji, from e, image, and moji, letter, character.
An emoji is a graphic representation (still or animated image) used to express an emotion, depict a character, an animal, an action or other.

An emotion is a psychological and physical reaction to a given situation.

It begins with an internal manifestation, and then triggers an external reaction, or behavior. So there's a link between the situation and your interpretation of it.

It is recognized worldwide that there are 6 basic families of emotions: joy, fear, disgust, sadness, surprise and anger.

Each family of emotions includes a multitude of secondary emotions such as shame, boredom, embarrassment...

Throughout the day, you can feel a multitude of different emotions of varying intensity. It's also perfectly normal to experience contradictory emotions at the same time, and certain situations can provoke different emotions that jostle for position within you.

For example, you may be happy at the idea of living abroad, but feel anxious and sad at the thought of leaving your family.

Emotions are neither positive nor negative, but all have specific information to help us connect with our environment. If you learn to recognize them, to name them, this can help you to tame them and thus improve your personal development.
